First-Time applicants

The following checklist contains the documentation required from first-time applicants to the Department of Economics:

1. Graduate Division Application Form A (submitted online)
2. Graduate Division Application Form B (submitted online)
3. Graduate Division Application Form C (submitted online)
   For US citizens/permanent residents
4. Graduate Division Application Form E (submitted online)
   For international students
5. Graduate Division Application Form F
   (submitted online or mailed with supporting documents)
6. Non refundable application fee paid online at the Graduate Division Web site
7. One set of official transcripts from each college or university you have attended
8. Three letters of recommendation with Graduate Division Application Form G - submitted online
9. Official GRE scores
10. Official TOEFL scores (if applicable)

Current UC Berkeley Graduate Students

The following checklist contains the documentation required from applicants who are currently UC Berkeley Graduate Students.

1. Graduate Petition for Change of Major or Degree Goal
   (Continuing students in other majors must obtain approval from their current department before submitting the petition to the Economics Department.)
2. Graduate Division Application Form A
   (Note that all Graduate Division Application Forms may not be submitted online, but must be submitted in hardcopy.)
3. Graduate Division Application Form B
4. Graduate Division Application Form C
   For US citizens/permanent residents
5. Graduate Division Application Form E
   For international students
6. Graduate Division Application Form F
7. Copies of all undergraduate and graduate transcripts
   (available through your home department)
8. Copy of GRE scores
   (available through your home department)
9. Three letters of recommendation with Graduate Division Application Form G - submit hardcopy via the mail.

Reactivation of an application submitted within the last two years

The following checklist contains the documentation required from applicants reactivating a graduate application submitted to the UC Berkeley Department of Economics within the last two years. If you applied over two years ago, please use instead the checklist for first-time applicants:

1. Graduate Division Application Form A (submitted online)
2. Graduate Division Application Form B (submitted online)
3. Graduate Division Application Form C (submitted online)
   For US citizens/permanent residents
4. Graduate Division Application Form E (submitted online)
   For international students
5. Graduate Division Application Form F
   (submitted online or mailed with supporting documents)
6. Non refundable application fee paid online at the Graduate Division Web site
7. One set of official transcripts from all institutions where you have completed any academic work since your last application
8. At least one new letter of recommendation with Graduate Division Application Form G
